S. 896, The Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009, was signed into law on June 2, 2009. Among the provisions of the bill is the increase of the NCUA's borrowing authority from Treasury from $100 million to $6 billion. NCUA will also have the ability to borrow as much as $30 billion through December of 2010. The bill also establishes a Temporary Corporate Stabilization Fund.
